Life After High School

Your kid is inching closer to the end of high school and the panic is rising.

What if we could take the lid off the pressure cooker?

If there’s a teen in your house who has absolutely no idea what their next step is after high school, you’re going to love this 90-minute session from local Career Advisor, Devon Turcotte.

  • Some practical ways to explore career options and narrow down choices
  • Unexpected avenues to pick up real information about postsecondary options and career paths

About Your Facilitator:

Hi, I’m Devon, resident Career Advisor and founder of careerified. I could talk all day about careers, education pathways, professional development, job search, networking, you name it. I am a nationally Certified Career Development Professional (CCDP) and a member of the Career Development Association of PEI. I am also a Learning Strategist with Workplace Learning PEI.

I’ve been working with teens and their families for nearly 20 years, from delivering workshops on careers in the trades to postsecondary admissions to supporting new grads with job searches. This is my nerdy happy place. I really enjoy helping people figure out what’s next after high school without losing their minds (or wasting money).

I remember well my own stresses over choosing programs and careers and planning everything. And having been in this world for a couple of decades, I can absolutely confirm that those stresses have gotten worse.

That’s why I created this session: to bust through the noise, clear up the myths, and help you and your teen make choices that actually fit. My goal with this session is that you leave not only with valuable information, but also with a feeling of relief and the ability to focus on what matters.

I promise, no preachy advice, no scare tactics. Just real talk, straight answers, and maybe a few laughs.
